The mailing address on all Mail permits (even in your absence) is the same as that for the permit holder listed on the permit. For first-class mail you will also need an Authorization to Mail form, which must be signed by the permit holder. If you wish to change the name on your permit, you must submit an amendment to your permit form with the appropriate fee. Your permit remains valid until you either sell or destroy your mail, or until the time from your last renewal period for that permit has elapsed. If you purchase or destroy mail in the same transaction that you apply for or purchase a Mail permit, the permit is deemed renewed for that transaction, and becomes effective on the new date. Mail may be delivered to a new address on application and until the postal services have notified the permit holder. You must maintain all applicable permits for First-Class Mail or special mail (Mail) at your mailing address until your permit expires. You will need a receipt showing the date that you submitted your application and the date on which you submitted the permits. A complete application and permit forms are available in this document.
