You will need a pair of scissors, a ruler, and a square to create this "design" on a piece of paper. Step 1. Place a grid on a piece of paper and a ruler right next to it. Then cut a small hole in the grid and use a pencil to draw a square. Step 2. Now use your ruler and the graph paper to cut your design on a piece of paper. Be sure to leave a little space between the pieces so the colors don't blend in. You should have three or four pieces, so mark the four corners. Step 3. The "Citadel" is shaped like an octagon. The top corner, for example, is 3/4" away from the bottom corner. You can draw this as such with your ruler: 3/4+3/4 = 1/4" Step 4. Then you connect all the corners and glue in place. 2. Design Your Own Coat of Arms with Quadrants. Once you are done, you can use your ruler to help draw the color patterns onto your design. Step 1. First, find all the corners you marked with a pencil. Draw the first red rectangle, then draw the bottom right quadrant, the top right quadrant, the top left quadrant, and the second red rectangles on the left and right edges. Step 2. Then, draw five diagonal rectangles for each quadrant. Use the corners of the triangles as a guide for the first triangle, and the top and bottom right rectangles as a guide for the other triangles. 3. Design Your Own Coat of Arms with Quads.
