Teaching Assistant: Applicants must be currently employed full-time as either an assistant or teaching assistant in an academic, special education, or other non-curricular school. The applicant must also currently have demonstrated a minimum of four (4) years' teaching experience in an academic or other non-curricular settings. As a condition of licensure, all currently employed teaching assistants will be required to meet with their respective school district's principal or head of school in order to demonstrate their continued responsibility in the classroom or elsewhere, and must also present evidence of continuing professional development programs and attendance at a school-specific professional development day. Certification Requirements for Full-Time and Teacher Training Undergraduate and Graduate Teachers Undergraduate Students 1. Students with no other teacher certification at the time of application must apply as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. 2. In order to be eligible for licensure as an adjunct instructor, applicants must be currently employed full-time in a teaching profession that does not require a Virginia teaching license (i.e. not a full-time course or classroom teacher.) 3.
