The Chief Electoral Officer of Ontario will not be able to complete the update for you. If you are unable to provide an email address you have provided at the time of application, you will be notified and sent a reminder by email. If you have not signed up for email, you may call and an application can be submitted using that number. If a change requires a certificate of registration or receipt of a confirmation letter (when an application is for a change to the permanent address of a voter), we will send you a copy of the certificate. If you are a military voter, the application must be signed by your commanding officer. If the certificate or letter is received after the registration deadline, we will return your application to the person/s to request a receipt. The voter will be asked to sign and include a photocopy of the certificate or letter from your commanding officer and the change fee. If your application includes a statement under “Other documentation acceptable for proof of identity”, please note that the change must be accompanied by a photocopy of the Statement of Identity Document issued under the Ontario Personal Information Protection Act — please see the Statement of Identity Document for more details. If you are applying for an update to your permanent address you must be alive in order for us to proceed.
