The Halifax Regional School Board is pleased to provide an outline of the committee functions and the duties, duties not. I also received this letter from the headmaster of C.W. Jeffery and a letter from the dean of admissions. (As an aside, I also received a detailed report by the principal about whether Mr. Kupchinsky made enough of an effort to contact them before getting suspended.) On March 1st, the letter from the principal came to the house, after I'd been home less than 24 hours. I explained that I had no intention of sending the parents a follow-up letter, but rather that I'd be writing a longer, more nuanced response. After some discussion on the phone, it seemed it would be easier to just send them a letter. I explained that I would email it as an email attachment and include an explanation of why the parents should not have to file a complaint. The first time around, I had my first contact with Kupchinsky, when he brought his parents in for a premiering. I knew from earlier in the process that this was Kupchinsky's intention — to be here to ask to appear to testify, and that's where he made his move.
