Photographic Library. Figure 1 shows the average humidity of the Earth from 1910 onwards. The lines represent 1.0% values; the vertical black line shows 100% value for the period 1920 to 1950. The horizontal red line shows the normal maximum values for that period. For the period 1960 to 1980 there is no longer any clear maximum. A few years ago this value was around 90%. The vertical red line, showing the normal maximum values, reaches an average value of 68% for the period 1910 to 1950. Figure 2 shows the average of tropospheric temperatures for the period 1910 onwards. The horizontal red line of the figure shows 100% value for the period 1920 to 1950, but it is now in the normal range for that period. The vertical green line shows the normal maximum values for that period. This means that by 1980 the average maximum temperature was almost the same as the normal minimum value. I have to emphasize that the values for tropospheric temperatures shown in this figure are, strictly speaking, for the time period 1960 to 1980. From 1940 the data are not available, but I have taken the value of 68% for the average maximum. The horizontal red line of the figure reaches the normal value of 68% only after 1960. In this year the temperature also reached around 30 °C, while the maximum of 65 °C was reached in 1930. The vertical green line of the figure rises from an average temperature of around 50 °C to an average temperature of 65 °C.
