June 11, 2010. THE IRON BUTT INDUSTRY'S FIRST SIT-COMPETITOR IS ON THE WAY. It's the Iron Butt Association Racing Series, and it is called “GOLD SIT-COMPETITOR”. The Iron Butts are proud to announce today, June 11, 2010 “The World's Toughest Rider — The Iron Butt Sore 1500K.” As well as the Iron Butt Sore 1000k on July 17, 2010, both of the events will feature our two-year Iron Butt Sore Racing Championship. The Iron Butt industry has developed the unique experience of racing on the asphalt without the use of wheels.
The Iron Butt Sore, or Bun Burner event, is designed to produce riders who are capable of making their own rules, choosing when to attack, and choosing gear that is necessary for each mile. The Iron Butt Industry has created a new type of “sport” for the bike industry. The event is similar to a motorcycle rally. It is a fun weekend event for a family of four. All riders meet at the race start and, with proper gear, can do anything they want on the day's long-distance ride.
The event starts in the small town of LaGrange, Georgia, and finishes in the beautiful countryside at the “GOLD SIT-COMPETITOR” racecourse. The Iron Butt Sore 1500k takes riders through five race distances, 1500, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 3/8 miles. They can do it a mile at a time, and they can do it every day of their lives. The Iron Butt Sore 1000k or Bun Burner 1500k will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010. It will be on a closed road course to make it easier on the competitors and easier for riders. They can have fun racing while remaining safe on the road.
Registration starts Thursday, June 8 at 10 AM at INBOARD, 1727 KENSINGTON AVE., BALTIMORE, MD 21210. They can register anytime during the week.
