This position may be filled by the Arts Council in the City-State's most significant arts event, the annual Skokie Art Fair. All members of Council must be members of the arts community. The membership in the Arts Council of City-State members is subject to review by the Arts Council. Governor The Governor shall be responsible for the administration of Skokie policies. The Governor and Vice President-elect may appoint members of the Arts Commission to the Executive Board. Executive Board The Executive Board shall be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations and policies of the Arts Commission. The membership in the executive board of the Arts Commission is subject to review by the President and the Governor. Skokie Council Member Commission The Skokie Council Member Commission shall be responsible for developing and implementing the Arts Council Member plans for enhancing and protecting the civic arts and culture of the city of Skokie. The membership in this Commission is subject to review by the Council. Skokie School District Board of Education The Council shall have the responsibility for the education and training of Skokie residents and teachers. As set forth further in this Act, this member may provide advisory services and may recommend members to the Governor for nomination for election. President The Mayor shall be the President of the Skokie School District Board of Education. The President shall be the Chairperson of Skokie Council Member Commission, Skokie City-State's highest appointing body for Arts Commission members, and the Executive Board. Vice President The Vice President-elect may serve in this position until his or her election to the office of President. The duties of the Vice President may include serving as the liaison to the Governor, acting as the liaison to the Governor's office and acting in a similar capacity when asked by or to the Mayor to attend to the Mayor's needs regarding the Executive Board. Sole President The sole President-elect shall serve until his or her election to the office of President. The duties of the sole President may include, but not be limited to serving on the Executive Board of the Arts Council.
