This is to minimize the likelihood of a second check being sent. There are no charges for any refunds received within 2 weeks of the receiving a tax ID number. If the amount of the refund is less than the outstanding tax owed, the Tax Commission will notify the bank or payee. The refund will be processed after the Tax Commission is satisfied that this information is available to them.
