To determine eligibility, TALC staff will apply the same criteria as were used in the 2011 evaluation of staff sharing activities undertaken to determine eligibility for staffing and promotion opportunities. V. Requirements: (1) Application will include completed application forms, TALC Membership Award certificate, employee reference, and TALC Staff Development Program Policy. The TALC staff that is selected to participate in the sharing activities will be paid at their annual rate of pay, as is standard in the library community for staff and supervisors. If the volunteer or employee is also receiving pay as an employee, the cost of the program will be the same. Participants will be offered an opportunity to share their expertise as a professional, to offer a professional opinion or advice, and to discuss their individual or collective experience with a subject-matter expert and will not receive compensation from their library. (2) TALC members will be eligible for the volunteer or employee sharing program if: a. They reside in New Hampshire and are a current library member; b. The candidate/volunteer is an employee of the library; or c. They are a library patron, and it is a normal program for those patrons to participate in. VII. Selection Process: the selection process will be a competitive bid. The process for selecting and interviewing applicants will use the same criteria as were used in the 2011 evaluation of staff-sharing activities undertaken to determine eligibility for funding and staffing and to create library professionals. All applicants will undergo an interview. (a) Applicants will be selected through the TALC selection committee which includes TALC members, member libraries, and the State Library Commission in a non-selective process; b. Applicants selected to participate in sharing will be compensated at their annual rate of pay; c. The selection process shall take place no later than the third business day after the submission of applications, excluding weekends, New York City, and holidays. VII. Responsibilities: all TALC staff who are selected to participate will perform the share program as directed by the sharing specialist who will be a member of the TALC staff. The sharing specialist may, at any time, request additional or alternative participation by TALC members in the sharing activities by emailing VIII.
