We'll also link your e-mail to a directory of all organizations and lawyers (regardless of their CLSA affiliation) who will have the news and will be available to provide further information if required. Alerts are sent once a week, once a quarter and once a year. Not all agencies and lawyers have a CLSA affiliation. Many lawyers refer clients to the CLSA but have no affiliation to it. In these circumstances, CLSA members can apply through our website. You won't get access to the news, and you may be billed for it, but you'd still be giving your help to other CLSA members. How can I apply for alerts? If you're not an associate or a member of CLSA, send your completed application (available to members from all three services) to: CLSA Alerts Ltd., 10 Downing Street, London W1F 9LQ. How do you decide who to alert? We don't want our alerts to become a one way service. We'll always provide alerts to those CLSA members who have opted in for e-mail alerts. If you want to be on our register of affiliated law firms, you need to opt in to receive alerts on behalf of your law firm. In addition, you should use an alternative email that doesn't require you to register a CLSA number. If I have a CLSA email address, can I be included in alerts sent by email to me? Yes. We aim to send emails to members of our network on an ongoing basis, so your CLSA email address shows up in alerts where we're looking for you. You won't receive alerts if your e-mail is unlisted or if you've opted out of our alert service. How do I update my contact details to keep up to date about e-alerts? Simply log onto the CLSA's website at and go to the Alerts and Notifications section. There you'll set your preferred method of updating your CLSA email address via your CLSA account. If you change your mind, you can also update your email with us. If I do have a CLSA email address why am I not featured in alerts? Our email alerts are used to notify CLSA members immediately when there's news about the criminal law system and our members have made contact with this system. This is because it's our policy not to alert people who are not CLSA members, including other criminal lawyers.
