Your application should be filed with your written consent at the time you apply. The Hoover City Council does not accept post-marked applications. You may submit your application by mail: Mailed materials must be received by noon Friday, February 1, 1978 for selection by a Thursday, May 1, 1978 date selected by the Hoover City Council. All materials must be received at the city hall, 1009 Washington Avenue, Hoover, Alabama 37209. All applications submitted must state that they are received by the Hoover City Council as submitted, and include the following: Name, address, occupation, telephone number and email address, and that a signed statement (or affidavit) is attached that states: “I certify that I have read this entire written application, have not changed my mind and have not requested a hearing or been advised of any other legal action affecting my application and am a qualified resident of the City of Hoover and have a complete understanding of everything contained in this application” (if applicable). If you are applying for a position involving hiring, you must be a bona fide applicant which includes those selected and employed. To be fully informed concerning the selection process for your position you should obtain a copy of the Hoover City Council Handbook and its amendments, which are available from the Clerk of the Hoover City Council, 1009 West Capitol Street, Hoover, Alabama 37209. If your application is selected, you must file a complete and signed copy of your selected position with the City Clerk's Office by May 1, 1978. If you are selected, the City Council shall appoint you and notify each of the City of Hoover elected officers. The Hoover City Council shall conduct a hiring hearing for the position at least five days following receipt of the City of Hoover official notification from the Birmingham City Schools as to approval of the application. You are reminded that we want to make it clear that we do not have all the answers. The Hoover City Council seeks the best candidate available, and you should do all you can to assist in the process. We do not consider personal biases, religious convictions, race, color, national origin or ethnicity.
