In 2008, the Eagles set more records for wins and league championships than any other U.S. program. For the 2012 season, the Eagles are 12-2 overall, 7-2 in the league and have qualified for all four postseason tournaments. During his tenure with USU, Goldberg has guided USU to a record of 100-21 overall, including 11-8 in league play, eight consecutive winning and 10-straight undefeated records. At the helm he has been responsible for three national champion Eagles squads, two National Tournament championships, one NCAA Tournament berth and a perfect 18-0 record at the NCAA tournament in 2006. At USU, Goldberg is considered to be one of the finest coaches in Division III volleyball. He holds the record for the longest tenure at the national level at 18 seasons, the longest time in Division III history. The American University Women's Volleyball coach had his second program named National Coach of the Year by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association in 2009 as a senior associate coach at the University of Connecticut. Goldberg is a 1994 graduate of the University of Connecticut. He began his collegiate playing career in 1996 and spent four years as an assistant at Notre Dame. After three seasons at Notre Dame, he was named associate coach at Conn in 2000 and won two NCAA national titles in 2001 and 2002. Goldberg made his national collegiate coaching debut in 1997 as an assistant at Conn. From 2, he coached at USF, where he amassed a record of 67-22 during seven seasons. Goldberg compiled an impressive 4-3 record in NCAA qualifying and made the NCAA Division III semifinals and finals three times. Goldberg also managed the women's volleyball program at Boston University during two seasons, including a 33-7 record that earned the Terriers the 1999 NCAA's title. Goldberg was named Boston College's head coach in 2009 and guided the Eagles to a 13-3 record. In his first season at BC, the Eagles captured the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season crown, the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title and the conference tournaments for the first time while advancing to the NCAA semifinals. Since taking the reins at BU, the Eagles are 25-7.
