Florida Newly-Admitted CLE Rules Florida attorneys must complete “Practicing with Professionalism” within the first year of being admitted and 3 basic level courses (or 21 hours of basic level programming) sponsored Young Lawyers Division within the first three years of admission to the Bar.
The rule requires that you have 30 total hours of continuing education each cycle. Your total hours will appear as “General” on the website when you enter credits or check your hours. 5 of the 30 hours must be in ethics or professionalism. You still need 30 total hours.
The Florida State Bar requires attorneys to complete 33 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit hours every 3 years. The 33 FL CLE hours must include 5 hours in legal ethics, professionalism, substance abuse, mental illness awareness, or bias elimination, and 3 hours in technology.
