Troy is a member of Liberty County's Young Democrats and the Liberty County Democratic Club of Virginia. He is the former chairman of the Civil War Museum on-line. A veteran of 18 operations, in the Army Air Corps during the Korea “Thunderbolt,” he served four years as a combat medic in Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. He received his degree from the Virginia Military Institute in 1976. Troy is also a Civil War reactor. He served as a gunner in the 11th Virginia Regiment. The 11th was a unit of Volunteers that captured Gettysburg. Troy's last war experience was a 12-month tour as a Civil Air Patrol member. He served as a military operation liaison with the North American P.O.W.E.R. Task Force. Troy was recently married. His wife, Donna, is an architect who previously was a real estate broker and a certified public accountant. She is currently an artist living at her studio. Their five children are: Maryann (now at a convent), Eric, Brian, Lisa and Kevin. As one of the original participants in the Old Baldy Round Table and a member of the original “Baldy Boys” group, Troy has many stories to share and some interesting history behind some of the other stories that you hear here on the podcast. As part of his “Baldy Boy” duties, Troy provides the historical foundation for our “Baldy Minute” which features stories of the Old Baldy Civil War Round Table and the Baldy Boys in particular, along with interviews with interesting individuals such as: “Baldy Boy” George L.
