(You must get these by September 30)You are a United States citizen, including U.S. nationals and U.S. residents. Your U.S. citizen tax filing status is either married filing jointly, widowed, or separated and single. You have a U.S. household gross income of 120,000 or more. If your household income equals 180,000 or more you must file Tax Form 2675. Otherwise, your tax form will be EIN/EIN-122, Employer Identification Number (EIN)/Employer Identification Number for Tax Purposes (EIN/EIN-122) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN/TIN) If not filing a joint return, you have an average or larger household gross income equal to or greater than 150,000 and file income tax returns on Forms 1040, 1040-EZ, 1041, 1045, 1041A, 1045-EZ, 1045-T, 1045-X, 1040A, 1040-F, 1040-J, 1040-P, 1040-Q, 1040EZ, 1040-SF, 521-EZ, 522-X, 526-X, 535-X, 545-X. If you are filing a joint return to claim the benefits of the U.S. tax credit for the qualified adoption expenses of spouses with tax liability, then your joint return must be filed on or before the last day of the tax year or on any earlier day not later than the filing due date of the return of the spouse with whom you are filing the joint return as of which you are claiming the credit. If the return of the spouse with whom you are filing the joint return as of which you are claiming the credit is filed after the last day of the tax year, you must file a joint return on the last day of the tax year, and you must include a statement for the credit on the return. If you can't file your joint return by the due date of return of you spouse with whom you are filing the joint return until you are satisfied that the spouse with whom you filed the joint return has filed an amended return on a timely basis, you are not entitled to a credit for the adoption expenses for the qualified adoption expenses described in section 2256 of this title.
