In this paper we examine whether component-based development can be applied to components which are widely mismatched between those in use and expectations. We find support for CBD in three cases. In two, mismatches are expected for widely-used components (i.e. those to be reused on a wide scale) as they are not well-defined and can hardly be replaced. Our findings add to our understanding of mismatches between expectations and usage patterns in components and also offer guidance to component developers to mitigate the impact of mismatches at the design stage. Finally, we argue that component-based development provides a useful tool to minimize implementation time and cost. Download Full Article: Wang LI, Liu Xiaoping, Rob Poole, Chengdu Li, Xiaoping Liu. Ontology-based quality attributes prediction is a method that uses ontologies to predict the quality attributes of a system based on its architectural design and other relevant information.
The software architects or development team responsible for designing and developing a software system are typically required to file ontology-based quality attributes prediction.
To fill out an ontology-based quality attributes prediction, the software architects need to provide information about the architectural design of the system, including the components, interactions, and relationships, as well as relevant quality attribute requirements.
The purpose of ontology-based quality attributes prediction is to assess and predict the quality attributes of a software system during the design phase. This helps in making informed decisions to improve the overall quality of the system.
The ontology-based quality attributes prediction report should include the architectural design details, quality attribute predictions, rationale for the predictions, and any identified risks or issues related to the predicted quality attributes.
The deadline to file ontology-based quality attributes prediction in 2023 may vary depending on the specific project or organization. It is recommended to consult the relevant guidelines or project plan to determine the exact deadline.
The penalty for the late filing of ontology-based quality attributes prediction may also vary depending on the specific project or organization. It is advisable to review the relevant guidelines or project agreements to understand the consequences of late filing.
