Only employees connected to the LAN via a special network password can access the company intranet. HSWIntranet.com isn't an Internet site; it's an intranet site. Some companies and organizations allow business partners and clients to access their intranet sites from remote locations outside the company LAN.
For employees to access the intranet, their computers need to be connected to the organization's local area network (LAN). These computers also need to have Web browser software like Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari.

Click the Security tab > Trusted Sites icon, then click Sites. Enter the URL of your Trusted Site, then click Add. Click Close > OK.

If websites can be accessed without issue in an alternative browser, try clearing out the cache and cookies stored by Chrome from the Settings page. Switching off the “Predict network actions to improve page load performance” option under the Privacy heading may also fix the problem.
Step 1 Click the Start button. In the search bar, type VPN and then select Set up a virtual private network (VPN) connection. Step 2 Enter the IP address or domain name of the server to which you want to connect. If you're connecting to a work network, your IT administrator can provide the best address.
Click the Start button. Click Run Type mstsc and press the Enter key. Next to Computer: type in the IP address of your server. Click Connect. If all goes well, you will see the Windows login prompt.
In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options. On the Security tab, click Local intranet, and then click Sites. Click Advanced, and then type: *.
Key Differences Between Internet and Intranet. The Internet provides unlimited information which can be viewed by everyone whereas, in Intranet, data circulates within the organization. The Internet provides access to everyone. An intranet is a private network that belongs to a firm or an institution.
a. Open Internet Explorer by clicking theStart button. b. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. c. Click the Security tab. d. Click the Local intranet icon. e. Click Reset all zones to default level button. f. Click OK.
Typically, an intranet includes connections through one or more gateway computers to the outside Internet. The internet is the one on which you can access anything and that is what an individual uses at home or on his/her mobile, while Intranet is interconnected network in a company or an organisation.
Both the Internet and an intranet operate over a communications standard called TCP/IP (transmission control protocol/Internet protocol) that connects hosts to users over a network. Both the Internet and an intranet use Web pages to display information on users' computers.
Typically, an intranet has 10100 times as many pages as the same company's public website. Intranets often run 1001000 times faster than most internet users' web access which is stuck at low-band or mid-band, so it is feasible to use rich graphics and even multimedia and other advanced content on intranet pages.
An intranet is an exclusive network that can be accessed only by a specific group of people and no one else. Many corporations, government agencies and universities have their own intranets. Not every employee is given access to their company intranet, although most are.
In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options. On the Security tab, click Local intranet, and then click Sites. Click Advanced, and then type: *.
