Select the file or folder you want to encrypt. Right-click the file or folder and click Properties. On the General tab, click the Advanced button. Check "Encrypt contents to secure data" option. Click Apply and then OK.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder you want to password-protect. Right-click on the folder. Select Properties from the menu. On the dialog that appears, click the General tab. Click the Advanced button, then select Encrypt content to secure data. ... Double-click the the folder to ensure you can access it.
Using File Explorer, right-click on a file or folder you want password protected. Click on Properties at the bottom of the context menu. Click on Advanced Select Encrypt contents to secure data and click on Apply.

Click Command + Shift + A to open the Applications folder. Open the Utilities folder within Applications. Open Disk Utility. Click File. Select New Image. Select Image from Folder. Select the folder you wish to protect and click Open. Name the locked disk image and click Save. Click Done.

From there find the file you want to password protect or encrypt and right click on it to open "Properties." On the "General" tab choose the "Advanced" button and pick "Encrypt Contents to Secure Data Option," and then select "OK."
