Notify each job applicant of E-Verify participation by clearly displaying the Notice of E-Verify Participation and the Right to Work posters in English and Spanish. You may also display the posters in other languages provided by DHS. Complete Form I-9 for each newly hired employee before creating a case in E Verify.
E-Verify allows participating employers to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their newly hired employees. Contractors with a federal contract that contains a FAR E-Verify clause must use E-Verify for their new hires and all employees (existing and new) assigned to the contract.
In order to comply with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) rule, a federal contractor must verify all new hires and existing employees assigned to the federal contract. Federal contractors may also opt to verify their entire workforce with E-Verify.
Can an employer quit using E-Verify? Yes, assuming state law does not require it. The federal government is considering legislation to require beneficiaries of certain government agencies' contracts to use E-Verify, but no such law has passed yet.
E-Verify does not provide your employer with any immigration, citizenship status, or document information about you. The information entered matched records available to DHS and/or SSA. You are authorized to work and your employer simply closes your E-Verify case.
The E-Verify Verification The verification can be completed before the employee begins work for pay; The latest three days after the new hire's first day of work for pay, unless the employee will work for fewer than three days; for them, you must verify no later than the first day of work for pay.
An E-Verify case is considered late if you create it later than the third business day after the employee first started work for pay.
