Select the text you want to cross out. Click the downward facing arrow in the in Font group to open the Font dialog box. Select Strikethrough (pictured below) Click OK.

That's because the strikethrough characters generated by this tool are in plain text, which can be posted on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc.
Next, tap the "Format" menu shortcut at the top of the screen, then select "Strikethrough" from the drop-down menu. Any text you now enter will have a line through its center.
