Using the Insert Pages feature, pages from an existing PDF document or a scanner can be inserted into the current PDF document. Right-click in the PDF, and select Insert Pages from the right-click menu. Note: This option is not available in Edit Mode.
There are two ways to select the Insert pages tool: 1. On the Home tab, in the Pages group, click Insert. In the Open dialog, select the document to insert. Click Open. There is no real max. number of pages in a PDF file. There are very likely other system resources that get exhausted before you hit a limit in regards to pages. 4000 pages - even though it sounds big - is not a large PDF file.
