Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
In the case of debit cards, authorization holds can fall off the account, thus rendering the balance available again, anywhere from one to eight business days after the transaction date, depending on the bank's policy. In the case of credit cards, holds may last as long as thirty days, depending on the issuing bank.
Final authorization Must have a settlement amount equal to the original authorization. You'll now encounter a validation error if you attempt to settle for an amount other than authorized on recurring transactions. Expire after 7 days (previously 10 days).
Once the transaction has been confirmed by the issuing bank and merchant bank it is considered authorized and will post as pending. Generally, a transaction will be pending for one to two days before it is posted to an account. Settlement with the settlement bank usually initiates the final posting.
The time that it takes for a merchant who accepts a credit card as payment until the time the funds are deposited into the merchant's bank account can vary depending on the type of merchant account the business owner uses. Typically, a payment can take anywhere from 24 hours up to three days to process the payment.

The fastest way to resolve this issue is to contact the merchant directly. If they're able to remove the pending transaction, it should be reflected in your account in about 24 hours. If they're not able to help you, pending transactions will fall off automatically after 7 days.

An authorization hold is just what it sounds like: a hold put on funds, pending authorization. It's simply the bank's way of telling the merchant that the funds for a purchase exist. When a customer pays with a credit or debit card, the merchant contacts the cardholder's issuing bank and requests an authorization code.
When processing payments there will first be an Authorization, where the account or credit card used is simply hit to ensure the funds are available. Then that Authorization is Captured which is when the funds actually moved from one account to another.
An authorization places a hold on the funds and is valid for 29 days. After a successful authorization, PayPal recommends that you capture the funds within the three-day honor period.
Log in to your PayPal account at https://www.paypal.com. Click the History tab. Click the Details button associated with the authorization you want to void. On the Transaction Details page, click on the Void button associated with the authorization.
Credit card capture or authorization capture takes place after a payment authorization. It's when the authorized money is transferred from the customer's account to a merchant's account. So, in short, the transaction amount doesn't reach the merchant account until the funds are captured. Read on to learn the details.
This means that there is no transaction linked to the order. In that case, Return Magic will not be able to refund the transaction. The payment was not captured. When a payment is captured, the money from the customer's account is transferred to the merchant's account. The order was not shipped.
