Converting a Microsoft Word document to PDF format is very easy -- beginning with Word 2010, Microsoft has included a free PDF conversion tool which allows you to save your documents in PDF format. Open your Word Document, and click the "File" Button in the upper left corner.
1) Open or create the PDF file that you would like to encrypt. 2) Near the upper right-hand corner, click on Tools. 3) Click Protection to drop down the security options. 4) Click Encrypt.
Open the PDF and choose Tools > Protect > Encrypt > Encrypt with Password. If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security. Select Require a Password to Open the Document, then type the password in the corresponding field.
