However, such a person may also place his digital signature if it is affixed as per the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Unlike ink signatures on a paper document, a digital signature cannot be copied from one document to another and the signature applies to the entire document; changing any element of the document after signing invalidates the signature.
To digitally sign the tally invoices, a user must be registered on the GST portal and possess a digital signature certificate. Please note that individuals or organizations can register and get a digital signature certificate within 30 minutes on the eMudhra Digital website.
Right-click the Digitally signed notice at the top of the invoice, and select Show signature properties. Review the signature's certificate details in the 'Summary' tab of the 'Certificate Viewer' window. Verify that the signature belongs to the Google entity that issues your invoices.
