The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has reversed its position requiring Medicare Advantage plans (MA) to apply Medicare Fee-for-Service face-to-face certification requirements to home health services.

The final rule requires physicians to document face-to-face encounters with Medicaid fee-for-service patients within certain time frames when initially ordering home health services and certain related medical supplies and equipment.
