Online Request. Go to the IRS Web site at www.irs.gov. Telephone Request. Call the IRS at 1-800-908-9946. Mail Request. Mail a 4506-T (Request for Transcript of Tax Return) form, which can be found on the Printable Forms section of our webpage (www.hostos.cuny.edu/ofa).
If your employer fails to comply, you can always contact the IRS directly. If you don't receive your W2 by February 14, you can call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040. When you call, you'll be required to provide detailed information to authenticate your identity and receive your W2.

Check with Payroll. Like asking for your pay stubs, you can get your W-2 by calling or sending an e-mail to your payroll administrator. Check if they have your mailing address right. Call the IRS. Do this if your previous employer isn't answering your calls and emails.

Importing your W-2 info into TurboT ax is easy. You can import your W-2 info directly from your employer. To use the import feature, your employer needs to be a TurboT ax Import Partner. If TurboTax doesn't recognize your employer's EIN, you can snap a photo of your W-2 using the TurboT ax mobile app.
The IRS advises you to reach out if you haven't received the form by February 14. You should also contact your employer and ask them to issue you a W-2, or replace the one you lost. If you get a W-2 after the tax deadline you can file an amended return. You can contact the IRS about missing W2s at 800-829-1040.
Businesses should keep employment tax records, such as W-2 forms, for at least six years, according to the SOLO website. Employers should also keep on file copies of documents from which W-2 form information is taken, such as payroll records, employment documents and employment tax records.
