JUST AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN ADOBE PDF AND CHEAPER Used for filling out electronic documents, easier than filling out documents manually and then having to scan them in order to email them. IRS Process time of form 2848 Power Of Attorney. I sent in a form 2848 over 3 weeks ago and the IRS has not processed it yet.
Form 8879 is the declaration document and signature authorization for an e-filed return filed by an electronic return originator (ERO). Don't send this form to the IRS. The ERO must retain Form 8879.
Even then, it is between the taxpayer and IRS, the preparer does not need an original signed copy (or any signed copy) of a paper filed return. Form 8879 does not require a wet ink signature and also is not normally sent to the IRS. If it looks mechanical or otherwise not pen and ink, they may reject the 2848.
If you e-file your return: If your return is accepted, and you signed with a PIN, you're done. You don't need to mail anything else. If your return is accepted, and you chose to use an IRS signature form (Form 8453-OL), you need to sign and mail this form.
You can sign your tax return electronically by using a Self-Select PIN, which serves as your digital signature when using tax preparation software, or a Practitioner PIN when using an Electronic Return Originator (ERO).
