Unlimited Ride cards cannot be shared by two people. In fact, there is a (roughly) 18-minute delay between each swipe to prevent the card from being used by more than one person. As noted before, on the back of every Microcard you'll find a printed physical expiration date.
Up to 4 people can ride together on a single Pay-Per-Ride Microcard. If multiple people are riding together on the same Microcard the first person can swipe the card through the necessary number of times and other riders can walk through the turnstile following them.
Technically, you could swipe three times, and assuming each swipe registered (the display window will say “Go") you could then walk through one after the other.
It's not illegal to swipe in riders with your Microcard. It's not illegal to use your MetroCard to help another rider gain access to the system, the NYPD and the MTA said, as long as you're not charging for the swipe. Jumping the turnstile is illegal, though.
Unlimited Ride MetroCard. Conditions of Use. Cannot be used again at the same subway station or the same bus route for at least 18 minutes. Cannot be used by or transferred to another person until the completion of a trip for which entry was obtained.
Prices for both weekly and monthly Microcards are increasing. The cost of a single ride will stay the same at $2.75 per trip. Unlimited monthly cards will cost $121, up from $116.50, and unlimited weekly cards will cost one dollar more at $32.
The cost of a standard ride is $2.75. You can buy as many rides as you want on a Pay-Per-Ride Microcard, from $5.50 to $80. Or you can buy an Unlimited Ride Microcard for a seven-day or 30-day period. There is a $1 fee for each new card.
1-Day Unlimited Pass $13.00 The 1-Day Unlimited Pass gives you Metro rail and Metrobus travel with no time restrictions. The pass is activated the first time the card is tapped and expires at the end of the operating day.
On Feb. 27, the MTA board voted to increase the cost of unlimited ride Microcards from $121 to $127 for a 30-day unlimited card and from $32 to $33 for a 7-day unlimited card. The MTA will also do away with pay-per-ride bonuses that add a few extra bucks to you card when you pay for more than one or two rides.
The cost of a standard ride is $2.75. You can buy as many rides as you want on a Pay-Per-Ride Microcard, from $5.50 to $80. Or you can buy an Unlimited Ride Microcard for a seven-day or 30-day period. There is a $1 fee for each new card.
When taking a RER train strictly within central Paris Zone 1 (visible in the first RER Map), you can use basic Paris Metro tickets for travel on the RER. Travel beyond Paris Zone 1 on the RER requires a special ticket: a Billet Île-de-France.
Single-trip “T+" Métro and RER tickets are interchangeable within the city of Paris (more specifically, in zones 1 and 2 of the Metroro/RER network). You can also use tickets from your carpet on public buses or trams. However, you can't transfer between the Metroro/RER and buses or trams (or vice versa).
The “Navigo Decouverte" is a contactless card that allows you to travel by Metro, Bus, RER and Tramway in a selected set of zones of Paris and the Île de France for at least three days. A Care Mobilis will get you a day's ride on Metro, Bus and RER.
RER (Roseauu Express Régional) is basically a part of the metro system aimed at travelers to or from the Parisian suburbs. The RER network only has few stations in Paris (all of which are also metro stations). The tickets (and passes) are exactly the same.
”RER" is an acronymn for Réseau Express Régional, or Regional Express Network, and refers to the rapid transit system which serves Paris and its surrounding suburbs. The RER currently has five lines, A-E, and is operated by an entirely different company than the Paris metro.
