Don't quite understand how it works as I am not a computer person except to do genealogy, and write. One cannot operate a computer without it. At least this is what I'm finding out. It all seems automatic, I would like to know more about it's function, Why's and what-fores, instead of just logging on and it appears. All I know is that it is a major function for downloading photographs and some documents. There should be a tutorial offered to those who are senior citizens and so many things are automatic. It takes understanding its function to a non-software-computer person. Guess more instruction would help.

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
The Input command asks the user to enter a value for a variable (only one variable can be inputted at a time), waiting until the user enters a value and then presses ENTER. It does not display what variable the user is being asked for, but instead just displays a question mark (?).
In True BASIC, the simplest way to obtain data from the user is the INPUT statement. The data provided by the user may consist of numeric or string values, and it may come from the keyboard or a file. ... It discusses the INPUT statement, the LINE INPUT statement, and the GET KEY statement for getting single keystrokes.
An input/output statement or IO statement is a portion of a program that instructs a computer how to read and process information. It pertains to gather information from an input device, or sending information to an output device.
The command to receive user input is named INPUT. INPUT will prompt the user to input data and then place the inputted data into a variable. INPUT's string and the variable must be separated by either a comma or a semicolon. The semicolon will print a question mark at the end of the text.
Holds a line of characters entered from the keyboard or read from a file. The number of an open file. INPUT uses a comma as a separator between entries. LINE INPUT reads all characters up to a carriage return.
In computer science, the general meaning of input is to provide or give something to the computer, in other words, when a computer or device is receiving a command or signal from outer sources, the event is referred to as input to the device.
The input() method reads a line from input (usually user), converts the line into a string by removing the trailing newline, and returns it.
Want to get keyboard input? To get keyboard input, use the input function. Inside the terminal you'll be able to type text. In Python 3 you can use the input() function, older versions of Python have the raw_input() function.
There are two functions that can be used to read data or input from the user in python: raw_input() and input(). The results can be stored into a variable. Raw_input() It reads the input or command and returns a string. Input() Reads the input and returns a python type like list, tuple, int, etc.
If the input function is called, the program flow will be stopped until the user has given an input and has ended the input with the return key. The text of the optional parameter, i.e. the prompt, will be printed on the screen. The input of the user will be returned as a string without any changes.
