How do I convert PDF A to PDF X
Convert to PDFX, PDFA, or PDFE Choose Tools PDF Standards. Choose Save As PDFA, Save As PDFX, or Save As PDFE in the right-pane. Choose the location to save the file, and then click Save.
How can I tell if a PDF is PDF A
To identify PDFA files you may use the VNeeS checker which identifies non PDFA compliant files in the validation report. An individual PDFA document may also be identified as such through its PDFA-specific metadata.

What is PDFA PDFA is an archival format of PDF that embeds all fonts used in the document within the PDF file. This means that a user of your file will not have to have the same fonts that you used to create the file installed on their computer to read the file.

PDFX: Ensures the file will work when sent for professional printing (all fonts embedded, no RGB colors, etc.). PDFA: Ensures the file is appropriate for archiving-that is, it will remain readable for a long time, despite changes in technology.
