The site is very confusing for a first timer and did not explain about using Google Chrome if you need to print any Documents, But Kirsten customer support was very good in helping and very patient to find a solution to enable me to print the Documents I need.. Roger Cox

I feel like being able to do this (fill in forms) is almost a miracle. But like with most good things you have to practice, which I will be happy to do. Thank you. I am about to try a "big" project: i.e. preparing a Pre-printed PDF format Quit Claim Deed. If PDFfiller doesn't work I will have to invest in a typewriter. I'll update this again if I can when I have finished.

Yes, to register a vehicle with your state's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) you must show proof of ownership and thus your name must be on the title of the vehicle. You then would not only register the car but be applying for a title in your name since when you buy a car the title is signed over to you, the buyer.
Answer: A motor vehicle title (also referred to by some as the “pink slip”) is a legal form, establishing a person or business as the legal owner of a vehicle. License plates are evidence that registration fees have been paid and are a means of readily identifying a vehicle and tracing ownership.

A car title is a document establishing the legal owner of a vehicle, whether a person or business, that's issued by a state department of motor vehicles. It's also referred to as a certificate of title or pink slip (as car titles in California were once that color).
Motor vehicle registration is the registration of a motor vehicle with a government authority, either compulsory or otherwise. The purpose of motor vehicle registration is to establish a link between a vehicle and an owner or user of the vehicle. This link might be used for taxation or crime detection purposes.
Both named titleholders are legal owners. The only difference is how the names may be separated. If there is an AND between the names both named titleholders must sign the title for it to be sold or traded. If an OR separates the two names either can sign off on the title for it to be sold or traded.
To register a car without a title, ask the previous owner to fill out the transfer of ownership paperwork so that you can be issued a new title. If you're unable to get in touch in the owner, or the title is lost or stolen, apply for a bonded title with your Secretary of State office.
