For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Too many pass/fail classes on a transcript could leave a negative impression. When used properly, the pass/fail option is a great alternative for college students. Pass/fail can make a course more pleasant and cause you less worry during your academic career.
A failing grade will likely hurt your GPA (unless you took the course pass/fail), which could jeopardize your financial aid. The failure will end up on your college transcripts and could hurt your chances of getting into graduate school or graduating when you originally planned to.
A W on a transcript looks MUCH better than an F. If worse gets to the worst though, and you do get an F, you can always retake the course and get a better grade. Our school has a policy that if you get an F, retake the course, the F is completely replaced with the new grade.
If you fail a class and retake it two or more times: Only one grade (the lowest) is removed from GPA calculations. All other repeats are used in calculating the GPA. All grades will still show on your transcript — even the excluded grade.
Dropping a class is much better for your GPA than failing a class or getting a C or D in it is because a dropped class does not affect your grade point average. Dropping a class may also raise your GPA because it can allow you to spend more time on other classes and raise your grades in them.
In general, pass-fail courses do not count towards your GPA. You receive credit toward graduation for the classes you pass, but they don't typically affect your GPA.
A pass-fail grading system changes the way that students can achieve credit for a class. Instead of receiving a letter-based grade, they will either receive a passing grade or a failing grade, allowing them to push forward toward a degree without worrying about the precision of their GPA.
If you pass, you receive credit for the course with no positive impact on your GPA. If you don't pass, then you don't receive credit and there's usually no negative impact on your GPA.
Some students, however, are uncertain about what taking a class pass/fail really means. ... However, students cannot take classes pass/fail within their major or minor. Although taking classes pass/fail may make classwork easier, it can come with negative consequences, Kline said.
However, when you take a course as a pass/fail, your final grade is one of two options: P for pass or F for fail. Underpass/fail grading, earning a letter grade between an A and a D would be a pass. However, at some schools, a grade between an A and C is necessary to pass.
