The Default Value is the value that a new record starts out with. You can change it if you want, but Access will create new records with this value. You can set the Default Value to a static value. For example, if most of your customers are from New York, you could set the Default Value for a State field to ANYY�.
Definition and Usage. The defaultValue property sets or returns the default value of a text field. Note: The default value is the value specified in the HTML value attribute.
For date and time types other than TIMESTAMP, the default is the appropriate zero value for the type. For the first TIMESTAMP column in a table, the default value is the current date and time. For string types other than ENIM, the default value is the empty string.

By using validation rules, you can ensure accurate data entry (to a point). Validation rules catch errors at the data entry level, so in effect, the mistakes never make it into your database. If the data doesn't satisfy the conditions you've set, Access won't accept the input value.
Open the table in Design view and select the field with the number data type. Select the Default Value property for the number field. Change the Default Value property from 0 to Null. Save the table.

To rename a field in a table in Access, open the table containing the field to rename in design view. Click into the Field Name column of the field that you want to rename and type a new name. Click the Save button in the Quick Access toolbar to save your structural modifications.
