Is registration of development agreement mandatory?
A development agreement is not required to be registered. This includes all construction contracts given to a developer. However, it attracts a stamp duty of 4% of the market value of the property, subject to a maximum of Rs. 4 lakhs.
Is it necessary to register a partition deed?
The partition deed is required to be registered at the office of the sub-registrar of the place where the property is situated as in case of any other registration. The stamp duty payable in such a case is Rs 1,000 for each share of the property. Further, the registration fee will be Rs 500.
