There was one issue- the orange pen would pop up when highlighting a word or sentence, suggesting an edit I assume. I would click it then stare at a blue circle waiting waiting waiting. I would just close the entire website and come back.

A retainer agreement is a work-for-hire contract. It falls between a one-off contract and permanent employment, which may be full-time or part-time. The purpose of a retainer fee is to ensure payment for future services or work to be rendered.
Being on retainer means that you're on-call for a specified number of hours each week or month. The client agrees to pay you for these hours, whether he gives you work or not. Usually, service providers offer clients a reduced hourly rate for the security offered by being on retainer.
Generally a retainer is a fee paid (as a wage) to keep you on account and is an annual sum at the lowest award wage, says Weather ill. This needs to be paid back in full before you make any extra.

The attorney should provide a retainer agreement detailing the retainer fee and how to proceed if the fee is depleted. If a lawyer charges $200 per hour and the parties estimate that the case will take a minimum of 30 hours, the client may be required to deposit a $6,000 retainer fee.
With a retainer, you agree to be on call for a specified number of hours for an agreed-upon monthly fee. Normally the retainer is paid in full, in advance or periodically on a payment schedule, such as monthly, quarterly or annually, but is generally made in advance of your work.

A retainer basically means that a client pays in advance in exchange for ensuring your services are available to them for an extended amount of time. A client can make recurring monthly payments, or pay a lump sum up front. This can be in exchange for a long-term project or for access to services on a regular basis.
Almost all divorce lawyers will ask for an advance on their fees (called a retainer) when you hire them. A typical retainer may run from $2,000 to $5,000.
It's important to share all relevant facts with your divorce attorney so he or she can prepare for and deal with potential problems. You don't need to tell your attorney everything about your marriage and children, but make certain to share all items relevant to the issues of your case.
Divorce attorneys usually charge an hourly rate of anywhere from $150 to $500 per hour, and some bill in increments (commonly 6 or 12 minute increments). That means that even if the service takes only a minute or two of their time, they'll charge you for six or even twelve minutes.
A retainer fee is an advance payment that a client makes to his or her lawyer before the lawyer performs any legal work for the client. It is similar to an allowance in that the lawyer is able to draw funds for various fees as the case proceeds.
To have a lawyer on retainer means that the client pays a lawyer a small amount on a regular basis. In return, the lawyer performs some legal services whenever the client needs them. Retainers are most useful for business that need constant legal work, but do not have enough money to hire a lawyer full time.
