Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
What is a Notary Seal? As a Notary, your official Notary seal stamp or seal embosser is your most-used tool. The Notary seal is the impression of the Notary Public inked stamp or crimping embosser. It is used to authenticate the Notary's signature and make the notarial act official.
An embosser is used in a number of ways to add decoration or design to several materials. It can be used to raise or indent a material in a three-dimensional form. Embossers can be personalized or custom-made.
Under the law, simply having a card embosser is not illegal. However, falsely making or embossing a credit card, having a falsely made or embossed card, or having or transferring a card knowing it was falsely made or embossed is illegal.
(1) Each state has its own rules about using seals and embossers. Some states don't even require using a Notary Seal. Ask your state notary division if your state allows this. California allowed the use of an inked seal, and supplemental use of a non-inked embosser when I was a California Notary Public.
Register your corporation with the state. Corporations are governed by the state, not federally. Head to a local office supply store. Design your corporate seal. Choose the embosser. Purchase the corporate seal.
Tip: Extruded Rubber Seals Background information: Extruded rubber seals are made by forcing the uncured rubber through a die while it is under heat and pressure. This uncured rubber is then vulcanized, i.e. heated, to cause a chemical reaction which cures the rubber.
After forming a limited liability company, you can obtain an embossing seal for your LLC that is used to create an impression on important documents, such as contracts and deeds. Although seals were once required to authenticate corporate documents, a seal is no longer legally required for any purpose.
In order to unlock your desk embosser, push down on the handle. Move the lock to the down position. Your seal will now be in the open position and ready to use. To use the seal, insert your paper between the top and bottom plate and squeeze with your hand to crimp the paper.
