What if I have more questions?
One is when you open the document in Acrobat and hit Ctrl-D to view Document Properties. The Creation field and Modified field should have different timestamps. There may also be APIs that can be used to programmatically retrieve this metadata.
Select View > Track Changes Toolbar. To see how a document would look if you accepted all changes, select Show Final. To see how a document would look if you accepted all changes, select Review > Show Final.
Open the file in Acrobat and zoom in to 400% or more to examine it. If the text and curved lines remain smooth it is a native PDF. If the lines are jagged, it is probably a scanned PDF.
Choose Tools > Comment. The Comments toolset is displayed in the secondary toolbar and the Comments list is displayed in the right pane. Using the Options menu at the upper-right corner of the Comments list, do any of the following: Expand or collapse the comments.
