A concert review describes a concert's overall structure - including its music, musicians, venue, time, and location - and attempts to place the concert in a larger context by comparing it to other concerts.
MPA stands for Music Performance Assessments. These are sanctioned outlets for quality feedback on a variety of musical formats.
Bands march shows of no less than 5 minutes and no more than 8 minutes to be given a rating by each of three independent judges: 1=superior. 2=excellent. 3=good. 4=fair. 5=poor. The judges cannot confer about their ratings and the FINAL rating is a consensus of the three NOT an average.
Music Performance Assessment An MPA is a major assessment event for secondary music programs in which a musical performance is evaluated on specified criteria.
The overall rating will be determined by the total score based on the following point ranges: Fair (IV) = 14-17, Good (III) = 18-24, Excellent (II) = 25-31, Superior (I) = 32-35. unmatched to ensemble.
Each student or group of students is evaluated by one judge and rated on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being the highest rating possible.
