To delete the line under the cursor, use dd. The delete command accepts all the normal positional modifiers, so if you are on the beginning of the line below the one you want to delete, you could just dk to go into delete mode and move up one line, deleting everything the cursor passed.
Ctrl + U — clear all the current line from the end to the beginning only if the cursor is at the end of the line. ... Ctrl + K — clear all the current line from the beginning to the end only if the cursor is at the beginning of the line. ... Ctrl + W — clear the previous word in the current line.

To Remove the lines from the source file itself, use the -I option with used command. If you don't wish to delete the lines from the original source file you can redirect the output of the used command to another file.
Delete everything The rm command has a powerful option, -R (or -r), otherwise known as the recursive option. When you run the rm -R command on a folder, you're telling Terminal to delete that folder, any files it contains, any sub-folders it contains, and any files or folders in those sub-folders, all the way down.
Place the text cursor at the beginning of the line of text. On your keyboard, press and hold the left or right Shift key and then press the End key to highlight the entire line. Press the Delete key to delete the line of text.
Pressing [Backspace] deletes the characters to the left of the insertion point, one at a time. When you need to delete an entire word, press [Ctrl]+[Backspace]. This shortcut deletes text to the left of the insertion point one word at a time instead of one character at a time.
Delete lines or connectors Tip: If you want to delete multiple lines or connectors, select the first line, press and hold Ctrl while you select the other lines, and then press Delete.
Press and hold down Ctrl and press Del to delete one full word at a time, instead of deleting one character at a time.
There is a shortcut in Notepad++ to delete a line: Ctrl + Shift + L .but this will only delete a single line.
