I apparently didn't understand the subscription options either, like other reviewers. But after seeing unexpected charges on my CC statement I contacted them and they immediately reversed the charges. Efficient, professional, no problem. I think the subscription charges/contracts could be clearer, but on the other hand I was moving pretty fast so maybe it was my error solely. Anyway, no harm no foul. The product itself worked fine. I have no comparison so all I can say is it functions and got my job done.

How do you seal green wood?
To minimize the effects of this shrinking, you need to either seal or stabilize the wood fibers while the wood is still green. Wood turners often use a substance called Polyethylene Glycol (PEG). Rather than sealing wood, PEG works by displacing water so that the cells dry without shrinking.
Why do they paint the ends of lumber?
The paint isn't only used to identify the wood boards by lumberyards, but it's also used to seal of the end grain to slow down the drying process. Aluminum paint, oil paint even melted paraffin will seal the wood. Coat the ends as soon as possible after sawing to minimize end checks.
How do you keep green wood from splitting?
To prevent this undesirable drying, shrinking and cracking, the simple solution is to keep the outside of the log wet. In other words, keep the water in the wood. Many carvers go to great lengths to avoid using green, freshly cut wood. A common concern is cracking or checking because the wood is wet.
How do you weatherproof logs?
Open the container of your polyurethane seal. Dip a brush into the polyurethane. Apply the polyurethane seal to the top and bottom of the stump with even brush strokes. Work the seal into the wood grain and along the edge where the bark is attached to the wood stump.
How do you weatherproof a log cabin?
Chinking ensures that logs, which don't perfectly fit, have a nice seal. Permalink is a sealant you can use to apply in the gaps between your hewn logs to prevent external infiltration (air and water) and heat loss. Always remember when using caulking to apply a first coat of stain before caulking.
What to put on logs to preserve them?
Use sung or linseed oil and a cloth to rub the oil into the wood. Check the wood after a few hours to see how much the oil has seeped in. If the wood feels dry then apply more oil.
How do you preserve log cabins?
Drainage counts. Walk around your retreat to inspect the ground around your foundation. Oversize your overhangs. Cover your gutters. Apply sunblock. Be watchful. Just add water. Watch for mold or mildew. Keep an eye on the roof.
How do I remove deck sealer?
Protect landscaping. Wood sealer stripper is caustic and can damage delicate foliage. Put on safety gear. If your skin comes in contact with the wood sealer stripper, it will burn. Apply wood sealer stripper. Clean the stripper. Rinse off the deck. Neutralize the wood stripper acids. Apply neutralizer.
