Thank you for your services! I’ve been working on a very important document to correct my military records, for seven years I’ve been working towards correcting an Ilegal discharge from active duty from the Army. In February I received news that changed my while direction so I started over from scratch. My draft is now complete and now I have all the evidence and events storyboard complete. There was a very important PDF from 2012 that is no longer available on the .gov website so I resorted to Google and found it on your site. Your site helped me to gather the necessary blank PDF forms that proved they did indeed break thelaw. It was a lifesaver for me!

Can you file a second tax extension?
No, you don't absolutely have to file your tax return with the IRS by mid-April each year. The IRS will obligingly move this deadline back for you by six months. Up until 2005, it used to be that you could request a second extension of time to file your personal income tax return with the IRS.
Can you get more than one tax extension?
You can request an additional extension of time to file taxes beyond the six-month period, but you cannot ask for multiple tax extensions. If the IRS doesn't receive Form 4868 first, it will approve your request for an additional tax extension only in cases of undue hardship.
How many extensions can you file on your taxes?
However, the IRS does grant you an automatic six-month extension to file your taxes every year, as long as you complete Form 4868.
Can you file another extension?
Can you file for another extension? The short answer is no, no, you cannot. However, not all is lost. Even if you weren't ready when October 15 came around, you can still make things (mostly) right with the IRS and avoid some penalties and fees they love to give out.
Can I file another tax extension after October 15?
You can't extend your tax deadline past October 15, but you can still file your return after October. Just remember that after the October deadline, you'll have failure-to-file penalties added to your account until you file your tax return.
What happens if I miss the tax extension deadline?
If you missed the tax deadline but are due a refund there is no penalty. The government is happy to hold on to your money, interest-free, for a bit longer. In fact, you have up to three years from the filing deadline to complete a return and get that refund. Don't delay too long though.
Can I file a second extension on my business taxes?
The simple answer to this question is no. There is a lot of confusion regarding second tax extensions. The IRS used to offer what they called a second extension. The second-extension granted businesses an additional two months to file their taxes. Now, the IRS offers a one-time tax extension of six months.
Can you get a second extension on your taxes?
In general, you can't file a second extension. See below for exceptions however. Once upon a time you could request a second extension (Form 2688) until mid-October if you couldn't file by the first extension's mid-August deadline.
