I think that it's a great thing. It makes fighting a case much easier.
That more people don't use it. There is nothing else that I like least about it. My vice president used it also an has no problems with it.

How do you attest a Mark sheet?
Any Gazetted officer of Central government or State government working in any department or section can attest the marks sheet. Need not be a magistrate or Notary. Recently I attested my board certificates with a Public Notary.
How can I get attested Mark sheet?
If you have original mark sheets from CBSE and want to get attested copies, you should get them photocopied. Take both the originals and copies to a Gazetted officer and ask them to attest it. Attestation refers to signing a document along with a stamp of the Government of India by a Gazetted officer.
Where can I get attestation?
To get attestation, a person needs to contact a doctor at a government hospital, a district superintendent of police or a sub-divisional/first class/additional district magistrate.
How can I get Mark sheet attested from Mumbai University?
Step 1: Make sets of copies of all the document you will be needing. E.g.: If you want all 8 mark sheets of all semesters attested along with the degree certificate, you will have a set of 9 documents. Keep in mind that you will have to submit 1 copy of everything you want attested with them, so plan accordingly.
What is difference between Mark sheet and transcript?
Transcripts consists of grades or marks compiled into a single transcript. Whereas, marks-sheets are those that you get for each and every year of exams that you sit for. Transcripts are a compilation of a sheet of paper depicting grades or marks for the entire four-year period.
What do you mean by self attested Mark sheet?
Self attested copy of mark sheet is a true copy or a Photostat copy or scanned copy of your mark sheet duly signed by you. Most preferred as authentic is the Photostat copy of the document to be self attested.

Self Attestation is a method of verification of a document by the applicant himself/herself. It is done by taking a photocopy of a document and then self-certifying by affixing signature on it and writing 'true copy' or 'self attested' if required.

Attested documents means documents signed by verified official personnel, entity or board. It is a process in which an official sign/stamp is attached to the document and the xerox copy of the document, thereby, proving the authenticity of the document.
