I took away one star because this is not an intuitive program at all. I have spent hours trying to figure out very simple tasks but once I figured it out it everything went very smothly.

Do you need a permit to day hike the enchantments?
Day users need only fill out a free day-use permit, available at any of the three trailheads accessing The Enchantment Permit Area. Day use is very popular and opportunities for solitude are limited and not likely during the summer.
Can you day hike the enchantments?
Day hiking the Enchantments is free and has become very popular because you can only backcountry camp in and around the Enchantments' wilderness area by permit from May 15th-October 31st.
How long does it take to hike the enchantments?
Time: 6 hours Once you pass the Core Enchantment Area, you'll start your official decent. The first 30 minutes of this is fairly steep and requires descending some large boulders. While it's not as steep as Asgard, I do recommend hiking sticks if you have achy knees.
When should I hike enchantments?
The best times to hike in the Enchantments are lake summer and early fall. In late spring and early summer, the Enchantments core basin is still snow covered. This makes travel more difficult and the views an endless sea of white (which is beautiful, just more difficult to hike).
How do you through hike the enchantments?
The thru-hike is typically done from the Stuart Lake trailhead, because it reduces the total elevation gain by 2,600 feet relative to going the opposite direction (although it still takes in the punishing climb up Asgard Pass, which rises 1,900 feet in less than a mile). Pick your poison; enjoy the rewards.

Wilderness permits for day-use are required. The self-issuing day permits are available at trailheads. $5 per vehicle/per day or valid Recreation Pass required on vehicle at trailhead.
How long is the Enchantments hike?
The Enchantments Trail is a 23.6 mile heavily trafficked point-to-point trail located near Leavenworth, Washington that features a lake and is only recommended for very experienced adventurers. The trail is primarily used for hiking, rock climbing, camping, and backpacking and is best used from July until October.

When can you apply for enchantment permit?
Enchantments permits are required from May 15 to October 31, every year. The 2020 overnight Enchantments permit lottery is conducted online and opens on February 15, 2019, at 12:01 am PT.
