How do you get a signature on certified mail?

To get a copy of your Electronic Return Receipt Signature, Log in to your Certified Mail Labels account, then navigate to Reports -→ Summary Tracking Report. Select “Delivered” from the drop-down and click “Search.” Click the “View” link under the ARE column to open/view/print your Return Receipt Electronic Signature.

Does all certified mail require a signature?

Certified Mail is a special USPS service that provides the person sending the tailpiece with an official receipt showing proof the item was mailed. When the tailpiece is delivered, the mail carrier requires a signature from the recipient. Additional services for Certified Mail include Return Receipt.

Can registered mail be delivered without signature?

The most secure United States Postal Service® mail service (protected by safes, cages, sealed containers, locks, and keys). Requires a signature upon delivery. Mailers using Registered Mail Restricted Delivery can direct delivery only to the addressee (or addressee's authorized agent).

Can I refuse to sign for a certified letter?

It's not illegal to refuse certified mail. But if the sending party can prove that they made every attempt to send and deliver Certified Mail to you, and you refused it, the court may pass judgment that's in favor of the sender.

What type of mail requires a signature?

Signing for Mail Some pieces of mail require a signature from the recipient at the time of delivery. This includes items sent with Priority Mail Express (if requested), Certified Mail, Collect on Delivery, Insured Mail (over $500), Registered Mail, Return Receipt, Signature Confirmation, and Adult Signature.

Why does mail require a signature?

Although USPS Tracking proves that a package was delivered to a particular address, Signature Confirmation proves that it was actually received by the intended recipient or his agent. This requires the recipient of your package to positively ID himself before the USPS carrier will deliver the package.
