hi this is tom larson with tech training for teachers today we're going to learn how to edit pdf files right from within chrome using the doc hub chrome extension let's get started one question i hear often from teachers is how to edit pdf files while this is something that can be accomplished quite easily knowing how to get started and what to use can be a bit of a challenge for the sake of keeping things simple and streamlined we've chosen to demo the chrome extension dock hub this is a free tool that is both intuitive and extremely easy to use to get started go to the chrome web store and locate the extension dock hub we've provided a direct link to it in the video description once located click the add to chrome button after installation you should see a new button appear whenever previewing a pdf inside of chrome you'll of course need to authorize the extension by signing in with your google account after doing this you are all ready to go most folks will want to know how to add text in doc hub it's very easy simply click the add text tool and then click the area of your document where it needs to be placed at this point start typing if you need to slightly move the position of the text box click the object handle and drag where you need it to go if the size of the text font or color needs changing select the text and then make the adjustments using the formatting toolbar needing to add a checkbox and digital stamp choose the stamp or check box tool and then click the spot on the form where the item needs to go most common stamps are readily available but if you need a broader range of options click customize to preview many more that are available with upgraded dock hub accounts if you've been asked to sign and return a document no problem click the sign icon to create your signature you have the option to draw upload or simply type it in once obtained your signature can be placed anywhere in the document there are several other tools users of doc hub will likely find useful including whiteout highlighter and freehand drawing the biggest appeal in my opinion is the seamless integration with google whether it's saving the annotated pdf directly to google drive or emailing a completed form to another staff member or colleague you'll find working with your pdfs in doc hub a breeze so if you haven't checked out this must-have chrome extension i strongly encourage you to do so thanks for watching today's video if you have any questions feel free to reach out to me via email if you like watching videos like this be sure to subscribe and don't forget to sign up for notifications so you'll know that instant new content is posted
