How large is too large for a PDF?
In most eFiling courts throughout the U.S. the file must be below 35 MB., though each state court may have its own limits. In general, though, there's very little reason for PDFs to be hundreds of megabytes large unless they contain exhibits that absolutely must be saved as very high-resolution photographs.
How do I shrink the size of a Word document?
Go to File > Options > Save. Under Preserve fidelity when saving this document, do either of the following: Make sure that Embed fonts in the file is not selected. If you do embed fonts, select Embed only the characters used in the document (best for reducing file size) and Do not embed common system fonts.
