I am a relatively new user to pdffiller, but have found the platform user friendly and does exactly what I need it to. Helping me modernise a lot of statutory requirements for e-signatures and template creations.

How do I fax to a number?
Place the document you want to send in the document feeder.

Do you dial 1 before sending a fax?
Dial a leading '1' when sending a fax only if you would dial a '1' for a regular phone call. As fax works over the phone network, all fax numbers are simply phone numbers and should be dialed the same way as a regular phone call. When calling long distance within the United States and Canada: The leading '1' is added.
What happens if you call a fax number?
What happens when you call a fax number? The beeps are the noise of the fax machine sending a signal to say there is a fax machine here. If no fax machine on your end of the phone line beeps back at the fax machine, the receiving fax machine will simply hang up the line.
How many digits is a fax number?
To dial a fax number within the same area code, only the 8-digit number is dialed, for a total of 8 digits. To dial the same fax number from within a different area code, a leading '0' is dialed, then the area code (1 digit), then the eight digit local number, for a total of 10 digits.

Does a fax machine have to be on to receive a fax?
Luckily, the answer is neither, thanks to online faxing. Online faxing, or internet faxing, involves using an internet connection to send and receive faxes. With standard faxing, you needed access to a physical fax machine to send or receive a fax. Not just that: you had to be right next to it at the right time.
Does someone need to accept a fax?
Most fax machines, fax software, and fax services will automatically answer a call after 2 or 3 rings. When a fax machine needs to be manually answered, someone needs to be at the receiving fax machine when the line rings and press start or receive fax (or some variation) to start receiving the fax.
Does a fax still send if no answer?
Most no answer fax problems come from an incorrectly entered fax number. A fax number may have changed, but speed dial system may still have with the old fax number. Calling the person you're sending the fax to and confirming their fax number can also help make sure you have the right fax number.
How can I receive a fax without a phone line?
