Signer Authentication and Security. Two-Factor Authentication

Has anyone attempted to steal your online information lately? We understand that while many of you like the convenience of logging in to your online accounts with a single click, others are more interested in enhanced security options. In order to help prevent phishing for your login credentials, pdfFiller is one of the first document management services to develop an account login with two-factor authentication.

If you go to our login page, you’ll notice that there are now four different login options available. The first is the traditional email and password combination. Remember that if you click on the checkbox next to ‘Remember Me’ and close pdfFiller without logging out, the next time you open pdfFiller, you will be taken directly into your Medics page. There is also an option to retrieve your password here using an email or phone number. For those of you for whom security is a priority, pdfFiller also allows you to log in with your phone number. This recently added option, available to those who have a phone number saved in their account information, requires a two-factor authentication process, similar to what you may have encountered when dealing with your online bank accounts. Simply click the ‘Login with Your Phone’ button, and you’ll be taken to a page where you can enter a phone number. After clicking ‘Send Pin’ you’ll receive a code via SMS. Enter this code and click ‘Log in’ and you’ll be taken directly to your Medics page. This method, which requires two keys for account entry, helps prevent phishing and makes it much more difficult for a stranger to access your personal information.

eSignature technology, like the software here at PandaDoc, uses digital certificates, diligent cybersecurity protocols, and high-end encryption to authenticate and validate documents.
Two-step verification (2SV) is similar to 2FA in that it requires users to provide two different forms of identification to access their accounts. However, 2SV typically uses two factors that belong to the same category, such as two forms of something the user knows (such as a password and a security question).
Allow 2-Step Verification Open your Google Account. In the navigation panel, select Security. Under “How you sign in to Google,” select 2-Step Verification. Get started. Follow the on-screen steps.
Each user on the account should set up two-factor authentication for their user profile in their account settings. Select your profile image at the lower left corner to access Settings and select Security. From here, select Turn on 2FA. Enter your account password and select Continue.
Note: For a CLM account, the administrator can enable and disable two-factor authentication for the entire organization.
There are other ways to password-protect a file without using Adobe Acrobat, including the use of free document editors like PandaDoc. This tool shows you how to put a password on a PDF in seconds. Just upload the file you want to lock, and the password will be added instantly.
To access the API, go to the Developer Dashboard page and generate either a Sandbox or a Production key. Generate the API key on the Configuration page of your Developer Dashboard. Use this API key as an Authorization header in this format: API-Key {{api_key}} for all your API requests.
