The Lock Document feature in pdfFiller allows you to secure your documents and prevent any unauthorized changes or edits. Follow these simple steps to use this feature:

Open the document you want to lock in pdfFiller.

Click on the 'Lock Document' button located in the toolbar at the top of the page.

A pop-up window will appear with options to set a password for the document. Enter a strong password that you can remember but others cannot easily guess.

You can also choose to set additional security options such as allowing or disallowing printing, copying, or modifying the document.

Once you have set the desired password and security options, click on the 'Lock' button to apply the lock to the document.

Congratulations! Your document is now locked and secure. Any attempts to make changes or edits to the document will require the password you set.

To unlock the document and make changes, simply open the document in pdfFiller, click on the 'Lock Document' button again, enter the password, and click on the 'Unlock' button.

Click Review > Restrict Editing. Under Editing restrictions, check Allow only this type of editing in the document, and make sure the list says No changes (Read only). Click Yes, Start Enforcing Protection.
First, open the Office document you would like to protect. Click the File menu, select the Info tab, and then select the Protect Document button. Click Encrypt with Password. Enter your password then click OK.
Click the Select a file button above or drag and drop a PDF into the drop zone. Enter a password, then retype it to confirm the password. Click Set password. Download the password protected PDF document or sign in to share it.
Microsoft Word allows users to protect a document by creating a password for it. This password is different from your device's password. Hence, the locked documents cannot be accessed if your device's password is compromised. However, if you lose or forget a password, Word cannot recover your data.
Microsoft 365 includes a file protection feature that allows authors to mark a file as Final. This locks the file, preventing any further editing.
